Primary Education Directorate office - Nungambakkam Early in the morning, at the first floor of the Primary Education Directorate building operating at the School Education Directorate (DPI) premises in Nungambakkam, suddenly a steady stream of   thick black smoke  gushes out of the room. All the staff in no time ran near the building’s safe zone area. Suddenly, a huge ball of fire blazed out. On seeing this people over there immediately contacted the fire department control room. Upon the information, firefighters from Egmore and Kilpauk fire stations location rushed to the spot to extinguish the blaze. After about 2 hours of fighting, firefighters brought the fire under control. Most of the documents burned and destroyed.
