Plan your monetary accordingly - Banks, to go on long holidays

Bank on Holidays Public and private banks in India will remain closed for seven days between March 27 and April 4. However, they will be open on March 30 and April 3.   In case you have any urgent work, it is suggested that you either do it this week ended March 26 or wait till April 5 to complete the same.   Banks will remain closed from March 27-29 on account of the fourth Saturday and Holi. March 28 is a Sunday which is a usual bank holiday. On March 31 services will remain suspended on account of the last financial day of the year. April 1 is closing day on which bank employees’ work but branches are inaccessible to customers and therefore no normal operations.   Bank holidays are observed differently by different states and therefore may not be the same everywhere. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) banks will remain closed on all gazette holidays across India barring four Sundays and two Saturdays.   Here is the list of holidays between March 27 and

Governor of Tamilnadu declared public holiday on April 6th.

Chennai, Election Commission of India said that according to Government Order released by Tamilnadu chief Secretary Rajeev Ranjan the Legislative election will be held in Tamil Nadu on April 6th in a single phase.   In this context, Governor of Tamilnadu has announced today that April 6 th will be declared a public holiday in view of the general elections and the Kanyakumari parliamentary by-elections. Significantly, political parties also suggested a public holiday on 6 th April, which could increase the turnout percentage.
