Governor of Tamilnadu declared public holiday on April 6th.


Chennai,

Election Commission of India said that according to Government Order released by Tamilnadu chief Secretary Rajeev Ranjan the Legislative election will be held in Tamil Nadu on April 6th in a single phase.  

In this context, Governor of Tamilnadu has announced today that April 6th will be declared a public holiday in view of the general elections and the Kanyakumari parliamentary by-elections.

Significantly, political parties also suggested a public holiday on 6th April, which could increase the turnout percentage.
