Central Government Released a List. Which cities in India are eligible for Peaceful Living?
Bangalore is one of the most auspicious cities in India to live in peace. Chennai is in 4th place.
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri yesterday released the 'Municipalities Performance Code - 2020' and the list of cities eligible for Quite Living. In these 2 categories, cities with a population of more than 10 lakh are divided into smaller cities and the top 10 cities are selected. The cities are as follows.
Bangalore has the highest number of livable cities with a population of over 10 lakh. The cities of Pune and Ahmedabad are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively. Chennai ranks 4th in the list.
Surat is ranked 5th and Navi Mumbai is ranked 6th. The city of Coimbatore is in 7th place.
Vadodara, Indore and Greater Mumbai are ranked 8th to 10th.
Shimla tops the list of cities with a population of less than 10 lakh. Bhubaneswar, Silvassa and Kakinada are next, followed by Salem and Vellore at 5th and 6th, followed by Gandhinagar, Gurugram and Dhawankir. Trichy is ranked 10th.
Indore tops the list of Best Municipalities with a population of over 10 lakh. Surat, Bhopal, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Greater Mumbai, Vizag and Vadodara are ranked 2nd to 10th. It is noteworthy that no Tamilnadu corporations are included in this Category.
New Delhi tops the list of Best Municipalities with a population of less than 10 lakh. Tirupati, Gandhinagar and Karnal are next in line, followed by Salem and Tirupur, 5th and 6th and Bilaspur, Udaipur and Jhansi, 7th, 8th and 9th. Tirunelveli corporation is ranked 10th.
The list has been prepared by surveying a total of 111 cities. It has been reported that the list of livable cities is based on their quality of life, economic efficiency, education, health and security, and the list of best Municipalities is administratively based on performance.
