3.6 - Magnitude Earthquake hits Ladakh

An earthquake of 3.6-magnitude hit Ladakh on Saturday morning.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck the Union Territory at 5:11 am.

However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property.

Earlier, an earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit Ladakh on February 18. The depth of the earthquake was recorded to be 200 kilometres, the National Center for Seismology stated.

Bank on Holidays Public and private banks in India will remain closed for seven days between March 27 and April 4. However, they will be open on March 30 and April 3.   In case you have any urgent work, it is suggested that you either do it this week ended March 26 or wait till April 5 to complete the same.   Banks will remain closed from March 27-29 on account of the fourth Saturday and Holi. March 28 is a Sunday which is a usual bank holiday. On March 31 services will remain suspended on account of the last financial day of the year. April 1 is closing day on which bank employees’ work but branches are inaccessible to customers and therefore no normal operations.   Bank holidays are observed differently by different states and therefore may not be the same everywhere.   UAE, Women are more cautious in following road traffic rules. Accidents are less likely to cause for women than men. People in UAE conducted a study with both men and women who own a vehicle. The study shows women are less likely than men to have accidents. Women are more cautious in following road traffic rules. Also they fasten the seat belts while carrying their children. Last 6 years survey taken and found out that women were less likely to be involved in road accidents than men. Last year report says 26% of men and 20% of women were involved in accidents.
